The Tonnesen Team of GreatLasVegasHomes.com would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a heartfelt "Happy Thanksgiving," and may your homes be blessed with joy. The following is something written by our wonderful Team Manager, Patty Annis, that describes how she feels about this holiday season and being home in Las Vegas.

In the words of Frank Sinatra, “It’s that time of year when the world falls in love!”  And it’s a very special kind of love for me during the Holidays…. a nostalgic kind of feeling that makes me feel warm all over, which can only mean one thing ……. family is visiting from out of town!

There’s nothing truer than “absence makes the heart grow founder” when it comes to family.  This is probably because I spent most of our youth battling with my siblings over just about everything there was to be disagreeable about.  The very idea of getting as far away from them as possible when I was all grown up was music to my ears.

Now whenever I hear “The Christmas Waltz” by Frank Sinatra my heart practically breaks from missing everyone in the family that I was only too anxious to move far away from.   It didn’t take me very long to learn how much I really did love and miss my family.  It truly amazed me how much my baby sister had changed the first time I came home from college.  I wanted to spend time with her, and talk with her, and find out what was happening in her life.  She kept asking our Mom and Dad what was wrong with me…..the whole me being nice to her thing was quite unsettling for her.

Now that we’re both all grown up with families of our own we literally run to each other arms and hug each other so tight whenever we have the rare opportunity of being together again.  The fact that we sometimes treated each other like mortal enemies when we were children has faded away from our minds to the point of adamant denial if anyone else in our family even dares to mention “remember when you two…….” because it just can’t be true.  We love each other so much, and we both wish we could be together more often.

Or do we? And would we if we were?

All I know for sure is that this Thanksgiving weekend I am absolutely overjoyed that my sister and her family have come to visit me and my family.  I hope everyone appreciates what they have this Holiday season.  There is so much to be thankful for. This Thanksgiving I am thankful for many things, but most of all, I am thankful for my family.
